An Open Letter -
to You?
Dear
Legalistic Person;
Why,
oh why, have you become an accuser of the brethren?
You
are so quick to point out faults
-
all according to your view point!
What
drives you to find fault, to slander,
yet still feel so self-righteous?
Please
answer these questions:
-
Who are you imitating? (What father are you acting like?)
-
What is your goal? What is it that drives you so?
-
What about love - God's love?
You
quickly raise your voice to say you must protect - you must warn!
No
matter what one says - you find a way to be right in your own eyes.
You
claim you have been called to point out error - to point out the mistakes
and faults.
What
about encouragement?
What
about love?
When
asked about love, the Love that covers a multitude of sins,
you quickly point to the errors in other's lives.
When
pressed further about the Love that covers, you become silent and
refuse to speak.
What
about hope?
What
about a future?
These
are God's plans for His own. (Jer. 11:29)
Why
must you, like the Pharisees of old, make a show of being perfect
(at
least in part) - when in reality you are so far from the truth?
You
gather around you those of like mind
-
you teach about the wrongs of others.
Sadly,
you have no idea, what others have gone though.
Worse
yet, you have no idea about the reality of how far they have come.
You
go to great lengths to keep many bound.
Yet
Jesus came to proclaim freedom for the captives. (Isa. 61:1)
You
constantly point out the past with that finger of accusation
-
that finger seeks to enslave all that are different from you.
Yet
Christ came to proclaim release from darkness for the prisoners. (Isa.
61:1)
Does
not true love breathe hope?
The
love you claim to have is not love at all!
The
mission your are on, no matter what you claim,
the
reality is that your life is not about love.
Does
not love lead one to the Father?
The
journey you have chosen, no matter how long you protest or how loudly
you shift focus from yourself to the mistakes of others, it's
not about what is right.
Your
lifestyle shouts loudly,
but
it is not about doing what you see the Father doing,
unless,
could it be . . . ?
Could
it really be; dare we even think such a thing?
Could
it be that the one you serve, the one you claim to represent is no
other . . than . . .
But
how can I say it for it sounds so far from truth?
But
then, what is truth?
How
do we decide what is our guiding light?
I
want to say, I want to share
-
but no it can't be
-
but then it might . . .
When
one looks at the Word , one knows it's true.
The
one you serve does not love, does not offer hope.
The
one you serve brings bondage and fear, it seeks to enslave.
The
one you serve desires to destroy the dream
-
to stop God's plans.
The
one you serve seeks to steal and if that not enough,
it
proudly points out past failures
-
erecting road blocks of death and despair.
It
will proudly build a wall to stop the Voice
-
the Voice of amazing grace!
Why
are you are willing to throw out on the trash heap
those
that don't live up to your requirements?
You
throw out those that Jesus redeemed with His very life!
God
valued them so much that He gave Jesus as a ransom for them.
Jesus
gave up everything to
give them a new start.
How
then can you claim to be a representative of God the Father,
of
Jesus the Saviour, when you throw out what He values so highly?
Those
who claim to represent God must surely value what He values,
love
those He loves.
If
not, there is deception - not truth - at work.
One
thing I know one thing for sure - I declare to those held captive that they
need not remain bound,
for
God's Amazing Grace has come to set us free!
They
don't have to remain a prisoner of the past
because
Jesus has come to love, to covers ones past.
The
past is gone - covered by the blood of Christ!
Now
the road is clear!
We
see, no longer through your eyes or even our own!
Oh
what a difference it makes.
Our
future is bright - guided by the light of His love!
Grace
will lead us;
the
Blood has cleansed us
and
Christ's love covers us.
Truly
the best is yet to come!

Isa.
61:1 (NIV)
The
Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because
the LORD has anointed me
to
preach good news to the poor.
He
has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to
proclaim freedom for the captives
and
release from darkness for the prisoners,
Jer
29:11 (NIV)
For
I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you hope and a future.
